Fall Engagement session in Little Italy, Toronto

Love in the Heart of Toronto: An Engagement Session in Little Italy

I love taking photos of a couple in their own neighbourhood. For this Toronto engagement session, I had a great time working with Danielle & Josh for a session that embodied the spirit of the city. I used to live in the west end, and it is so fun to be back and remember all the times I had on the same streets myself. With the city being so big and busy, I often stay in the beach, but it was fun to be back.

It was a warm day that felt more like summer than fall, we set out to explore the streets of the neighbourhood; Little Italy is still the same as always, which I love about it. The warmth in the air contrasted perfectly with the soft autumn colours that just started at Bickford Park. Fall is really late this year, but I’m not complaining about the extended warmth, I’m a summer worshipper at heart, but fall is pretty nice, I do love the light for photoshoots.

One of their favourite rituals is walking to grab coffee, so we made sure to stop on College Street and wander through Toronto’s iconic laneways on the route home.

We finished the session at their home, the porch provided a lovely setting for more casual photos and a day in the life. There’s something extra important about photographing a couple in their own space; it adds layers to the story we’re telling, and I think they will mean even more in twenty years when you are transported back to this chapter in life.

If you’re considering an engagement session, think about what makes this time in your life special. Whether it’s your favourite coffee shop, a local park, or simply a stroll around your neighbourhood, these personal touches will help create a collection of memories that you’ll cherish forever. Hope you enjoyed this engagement session in Little Italy
