About Me

Hi, I’m Nikki!

I'M A TORONTO WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

Thanks for your interest in working together! I specialize in wedding photography, elopement photography and I also take on a lot of family portrait sessions each year. Family photography has become a favourite of mine since having a daughter of my own, children change so quickly and I am always reminded why these photos matter.

A few things about me, I love to garden and spend time outside; nature is a huge inspiration for my photography. I love images that make you feel something - I'm all about true to life colours, photos that look natural and feel like memories. I do this job from the heart and so it's important to me to feel a connection with people I work with.

I have a 4 year old daughter and a crazy goldendoodle named Archie, I love dogs and I'm happy to have your pup tag along for any occasion.

I’m not one to write long descriptions about myself. Hopefully the things that I’m drawn to and find most beautiful are clear through my photos – natural light, beautiful spaces, and the heartfelt connection between two people. My work has been featured in various blogs and magazines such as Style Me Pretty, OnceWed, and Junebug Weddings. There is more information about how I work in my FAQ below.

You can reach me by phone or by email, or just use the contact form on my website. Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you.

Frequently Asked Questions

QUESTION

How long have you been shooting weddings?

ANSWER

I have been shooting weddings for almost 9 years! My experience over the years has helped me become a better photographer of course, but I also understand wedding days and how to navigate all the challenges that can arise and how to get the best results.

QUESTION

Where are you located?

ANSWER

I live in Toronto - in the east end around the beaches, but I travel all around for weddings and that’s something I really love to do. I also spend a chunk of time up in Georgian Bay every summer and love to coordinate creative sessions and elopements while I’m there.

QUESTION

What do I get with wedding coverage?

ANSWER

You will receive your wedding photos by online gallery - it has many options for customization and sharing for friends and family. The photos are high resolution JPGS, they are all edited and print ready. From there you are welcome to order prints through the site, otherwise download your photos and reproduce them however you please. I usually aim to deliver 75-100 images per hour that I’m with you. I also offer albums a la carte.

QUESTION

What’s your turnaround time?

ANSWER

You will receive your wedding gallery approximately 8 weeks after your wedding, up to 10. I also send a preview gallery before to make sure you’re happy with the progress and give you a few images to share.

QUESTION

Should I send you a shot list?

ANSWER

Aside from a family list and maybe a few important notes, I prefer to let things flow naturally. It’s much more interesting to let the day’s natural moments present themselves. I prefer to take a creative approach where I can pay attention to what’s actually happening instead of a list.

QUESTION

How do you describe your style?

ANSWER

I would describe my style as "directed documentary" - basically allowing the real parts of the day to happen as naturally (and beautifully) as possible. I like to use light guidance to make sure things look their best and the important moments aren't missed. On top of the candid storytelling foundation of the day, I love to mix in beautiful creative portraiture and it's important we set the time aside to do this well. No cheesy stiff poses required.

QUESTION

How many hours do we need?

ANSWER

I used to say 8 hours was just right, but in my experience I think that 9 hours is actually ideal to fit everything in with no rushing. I also offer 7 hours which can work for small easy going weddings with a small coverage list - these are just starting points and can easily be customized.

QUESTION

Do you work with a second photographer?

ANSWER

I photograph a lot of my weddings solo, but there are definitely times where a second photographer can helpful - for logistical reasons (usually getting ready) or a very large guest list. We can definitely discuss the options when we meet to see what the right fit is. I only work with trusted associates who deliver high quality photos that will blend in seamlessly with my own work.

QUESTION

Can we meet before we book you?

ANSWER

Absolutely - if you have looked through my work and you like my style, I would love to grab a coffee and bring along some album samples. It’s so helpful to meet in person so that we both know that I'm the right photographer for you.
